Western Cape Lubricants was founded by the husband-and-wife team of Ziegfriedt and Hannetjie Loots. Ziegfriedt, a visionary mechanical engineer, combined his technical insight with Hannetjie's operational dedication, quickly positioning the company as a key player in the region. Starting small, the company grew rapidly, built on the core values of integrity and customer-centric service.

For over three decades, Western Cape Lubricants forged a highly successful partnership with FUCHS LUBRICANTS, the world's largest independent lubricant manufacturer.


  • Pioneering Role: Western Cape Lubricants was instrumental in establishing and growing the FUCHS brand presence, becoming one of their largest and most dedicated independent distributors in the Western Cape.
  • Legacy: This successful chapter cemented Western Cape Lubricants’ reputation for reliable logistics, deep technical knowledge, and operational efficiency across diverse sectors.

In 2025, after over 31 years of experience, Western Cape Lubricants concluded its rewarding journey with FUCHS. This strategic move was made to position Western Cape Lubricants at the forefront of global lubrication technology, driven by a commitment to continually enhance value for our Southern African customers.

Western Cape Lubricants set its sights on the immensely successful Saudi Arabian multinational, Petromin.


  • Petromin's Pedigree: Established in 1968, Petromin has built a global reputation over more than 50 years, exporting high-quality lubricants to over 40 countries across the GCC, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
  • Shared Values: Western Cape Lubricants connected with Petromin due to their shared values of quality, forward-thinking innovation, and a comprehensive approach to mobility solutions.
  • The New Era: The partnership immediately established Western Cape Lubricants as the largest importer of Petromin products in Southern Africa in 2025.
